About this event
Wax dipping woodenware is a terrific way to preserve your hive parts for over 20 years. Wooden ware is dipped at a temperature of 270 degrees for 10 minutes to boil the water out of the wood and replace with wax. Pricing is $4 per piece (generally you only need to dip hive bodies, top covers and bottom boards).
Woodenware Wax Dipping
When: Thursday, April 30, 2026 11 am - 3 pm
If you can not be there on Thursday, you can drop off your woodenware any time before the event. Place it on or near the picnic table near the basketball hoop. Just make sure you put your name or initials with black sharpie on the woodenware somewhere inside or out. Pick up can be either later on Thursday or thru Sunday from the same picnic table.
For those who bring stuff on Thursday, you can take it home about 15 minutes after it comes out of the wax dipping tank.
Where: George's Farm: 97 Temple Rd Glen Mills, Pa
Cost: $4 for any sized box, $3 for any other piece of woodenware. Cash, check or Venmo payment expected at time of event or when you pick up your dipped stuff.
Please bring either new woodenware or woodenware where the old paint has been COMPLETELY REMOVED. We reserve the right to not dip an item that is going to contaminate the wax.
Sometimes the line of stuff to dip is long, so please bring a snack to have or share with your fellow CCBA members. We look forward to seeing some of our members in person.
Also, we are planning to assemble and dip the some of the deep nuc boxes from the storefront. The unassembled price is $28. Assembled and dipped will be $35.
